Dundalk Brocante – Saturday September 7th

Aug 24 2013| by DundalkTidyTowns | News, Projects

A community garage sale through Louth Tidy Towns Together in Market Square on Saturday 7th September from 10.00am to 4.00pm

What is a Brocante?

In France a Brocante is a community event held in villages and towns across the country, where local people can sell their surplus non-food items.  They vary from the internationally famous Flea Market in Paris to the Sunday afternoon sale on the village street.  They usually sell bric-a-brac, toys, books, unwanted items that can be usefully up-cycled by the canny shopper.  Brocantes can be organised either on a large commercial basis or as a community event.

On Saturday 7th September 2013, Dundalk Tidy Towns along with Tidy Town Groups from Omeath, Dromiskin, Castlebellingham/Kilsaran/Annagassan, Blackrock, Grange, Tallanstown, Kilkerley and Dunleer  will host Louth’s first Brocante on the Market Square in Dundalk from 10.00am to 4.00pm.  Each group will have their own stall.  All funds raised will go towards Tidy Towns projects in the county.  So why not come along and browse through the stalls, you will find a bargain.  Come early as there are only going to be single items on offer.

If anyone would like to donate an unwanted item that might have a resale value, email louthttt@gmail.com to arrange delivery/collection and the item will be passed on to the participating tidy towns group of your choice.

For further information please contact your local Tidy Towns Group or email louthttt@gmail.com
